Sleep & Rest
Hypnosis for Sleep in Chicago
You are exhausted and still wide awake at 2 a.m. Hypnosis works with the part of your mind that runs the bedtime routine โ so winding down stops being something you have to force.
The problem
The 2 a.m. loop
Almost nobody with a sleep problem has a sleep problem. They have a winding-down problem. The body is tired. The mind is still filing paperwork โ replaying a conversation, rehearsing tomorrow, running the same loop it ran last night.
You have probably already tried the obvious levers: no screens, no coffee after two, blackout curtains, a white-noise machine, a supplement someone recommended. Those are all conscious-mind fixes, and the loop is not running in your conscious mind. That is why willpower feels useless here โ you cannot decide your way to sleep any more than you can decide your way to a sneeze.
The work
What hypnosis actually does here
Hypnosis is a focused, deeply relaxed state โ the same one you drop into on a long drive or in the last few pages of a good book. In that state, suggestion lands differently. Instead of arguing with the loop, we build a new one.
In practice that means three things: teaching your body a physical relaxation response it can reproduce on cue, replacing the "I am going to lie here for hours" expectation with a calmer one, and giving you a self-hypnosis routine short enough that you will actually use it at 11 p.m. on a Tuesday.
Most clients also leave with a personal audio recording made in their session โ my voice, their words, their imagery โ so the work continues every night without another appointment.
What actually happens
Your session, step by step
- Intake and goal-setting, out loud, in plain language. What does a good night actually look like for you?
- A short demonstration so you know what hypnosis feels like before we begin โ most people are surprised by how ordinary and pleasant it is.
- The hypnosis itself: 30โ40 minutes of guided relaxation and suggestion, tailored to the loop you described.
- A self-hypnosis technique you can run in five minutes at home.
- Your custom audio recording, emailed within 24 hours.
How many sessions? Most sleep clients come in for 3 to 4 sessions over four to six weeks, then use the audio on their own. Nobody is asked to buy a package before their first session, and you will never be sold a program in the middle of a trance.

Take it home: Deep Water Sleep
A 38-minute descent into still, warm water. Written for the 2 a.m. loop.
Every one-on-one client also gets a recording made specifically for them, in their own words โ not this one. This is the general version, for anyone.
Questions
About sleep & insomnia
It varies a great deal from person to person. Some clients report a difference within the first week; others describe it as a gradual settling over a month or more. Sleep is a habit pattern, and habit patterns respond to repetition โ which is why the take-home audio matters as much as the session itself.
Yes, and please keep taking exactly what your prescriber told you to take. I am not a doctor and I will never suggest you change, reduce, or stop a medication. If you want to change anything about a prescription, that conversation belongs with the person who wrote it. Hypnosis sits alongside your medical care, not in place of it.
No. Hypnosis is not sleep โ it is focused attention with the body deeply relaxed. You will hear everything, you will remember most of it, and you can stop at any time. People sometimes drift for a moment near the end, which is fine and usually a good sign.
Yes. Sleep work translates well to video sessions, and you get the benefit of doing the work in the actual room you sleep in. Online sessions are priced slightly below in-person.
